Ich war immer bemüht den Gebrauchszweck der Objekte zu erfahren. Oft gab es Begleitschriften. Oft aber auch nichts. Dann konnte ich nur auf treffliche Vergleichsstücke hoffen. Oder auch Gebrauchsspuren. Ansonsten blieb der Gebrauchszweck nur eine Vermutung. Diese ließ ich aber unerwähnt. Natürlich konnte ich bei 75.000-85.000 Objekten keine tiefgreifenden Forschungen anstellen. Ich wollte ja rationell eine wohlsortierte Sammlung erstellen. Aber ich wollte schon, dass sich fundierte Gebrauchsobjekte von bloßer Touristenkunst abhoben. Das war nicht einfach. Auch kunstvoll erstellte Objekte können einen Gebrauchszweck haben. Mit einen trefflichen Objektnamen dann in der Sammlung und auch in einem Thessaurus aufgenommen werden.
Damit ergab sich dann schon das Nächste Problem der trefflichen Benennung.
Was ist der Unterschied zwischen einer Axt und einem Beil? Oder zwischen Arznei und Medizin? Oder, oder, oder..... ich fand kaum Leute die sich mit mir darüber unterhalten wollten. :-)
